Home Remedies for Acne Scars

Looking for home remedies for acne scars? This article is going to reveal to you the most popular home remedies, currently being used to banish acne scars. There are lots of synthetic products on the market today, but not everyone wants to use these, as they are often way too expensive and can be quite harsh on your sensitive skin. Natural cures are safer and far cheaper, so if you’d like to know which are the best, read on!

Acne is caused by skin pores becoming clogged, preventing the natural oils in the skin from escaping, as they would normally. Severe cases of acne, and excessive pinching and squeezing of pimples, can lead to acne scarring. Scarring looks nasty, as I’m sure you’re aware of, so how do you go about getting rid of acne scarring?

One of the upcoming home remedies for acne scars, is vitamin E oil. To use this, you rub a small amount onto the affected marks, and surrounding area. The chemicals in the oil helps to minimise the redness left by the scarring, and over time will work to remove any hint of the acne marks!

Having said this, the results from using vitamin E oil have been mixed. Often, it takes several months before any improvement is noticed. Some claim it has treated their acne scars, while others have seen no result.

Herbal water is fast becoming one of the top home remedies for acne scars. Herbal water consists of boiling corn husk hair, along with fenugreek seeds. The corn husk contains particular vitamins and minerals essential for the skins health, whilst the fenugreek seeds have been known to eradicate blackheads.

Lemon Juice is very effective at getting rid of acne scars naturally. Lemon juice contains a mild bleach, that may help to lighten the redness in and around the acne scarring. Similar to the synthetic product, benzoyl peroxide, the lemon juice contains certain ingredients that help to remove the rough, scarred surface of skin and reveal clearer, smooth skin.

Another of the most effective home remedies for acne scars, is tea tree oil. This is an essential oil, which is diluted and then applied directly to the acne scars. Tea tree oil does a brilliant job in killing the acne causing bacteria, by simply applying it to the skin over the course of several weeks can eliminate acne scarring quite effectively.

The home remedies, I have mentioned here, are just a few of many different natural acne treatments that you can use to good effect. Be aware, though, that some of these treatments can do you more harm than good, so make sure you know what you’re doing before applying these to your face.

Are you looking around for some of the top home remedies for acne scars, that have gotten results for so many acne sufferers? In this article, I’m going to reveal to you some of the top natural acne cures that you can use to banish your acne scars forever. There are currently hundreds of synthetic products that claim to deliver awesome results, however, a large number of these are ineffective and very expensive. If you want a safer, and far cheaper option, then read on.

It’s important to understand why acne occurs in the 1st place. Acne is caused by the pores in your skin becoming clogged up with bacteria, trapping the natural oils from escaping as they would normally. In some cases, prolonged acne on the face can lead to rather nasty acne scarring, which I’m sure you’re all too aware of. So how do we get rid of acne scarring?

One of the upcoming home remedies for acne scars, is vitamin E oil. To use this, you rub a small amount onto the affected marks, and surrounding area. The chemicals in the oil helps to minimise the redness left by the scarring, and over time will work to remove any hint of the acne marks!

Although, the success of vitamin E oil has been inconclusive. To see any results, you’ll need to be applying this for several months. Whilst some have reported success stories, others have yet to see any results.

One of the more popular home remedies for acne scars, is tea tree oil. You dilute this, and then apply it to your scars. The reason this works so well, consistently, is because the components in the tea tree oil kill the acne causing bacteria. If used correctly over the course of a few weeks, you’ll really begin to notice the difference.

These are just a few of many home remedies that can help to get rid of acne scars. Some remedies can be more effective than others, whilst some can do you more harm than good. It’s important to make sure you know that you are applying the natural remedies correctly, and safely.

Psoriasis Diet - How To Treat Psoriasis

Friday, October 9th, 2009
by Linda Robison

Is the new cure for psoriasis the psoriasis diet? Former psoriasis sufferers have written the National Psoriasis Foundation with claims that certain supplements and foods have a positive effect on their symptoms. Nonetheless, each person is unique, with a different variety of symptoms, medical background and lifestyle. With individuality in mind, it can be difficult to regiment one specific diet that will help anyone with psoriasis

For example, what dietary change may have worked well for one person and put their psoriasis symptoms in remission may not work for another or may even make some symptoms worse. These factors make it difficult to determine exactly what type of diet a psoriasis patient should follow. However, there is no harm in experimenting with your diet to see if a change can positively affect your condition. - as long as you don’t endanger your health.

As you’re experimenting with food remain mindful that your current medications may be taking important nutrients from your body. That means people on psoriasis medication will want to look into mineral, vitamin and protein substances to offset what’s been lost. Particularly look to green leafy vegetables, salmon and other oily fish, peas, liver, oranges, cantaloupe and fortified cereal grains.

The National Psoriasis Foundation agrees that a healthy psoriasis diet should limited the intake of caffeine, sugar, white flour, alcohol, they also recommend an FDA approved DRUG FREE herbal cream for psoriasis treatment. As health insurance costs rise and people become less tolerant of toxic psoriasis drugs - more people turn to alternative psoriasis care products. In fact, the National Psoriasis Foundation states “As more people become active partners in their treatment, interest in alternative medicine has grown”.

By 2004 over 36 percent of American adults were already using alternative medicines to support or compliment main-stream methodologies. The National Center for National center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine reported this finding after a study. Even with that awareness, not a lot of products have been developed that help ALL psoriasis sufferers, especially not ones that target the itchy, thick, white scales that are common to most people with this condition.

Don’t be discouraged. The good news is that both the NPF and the FDA have recently approved an all natural psoriasis cream that’s safe and effective. This product restores pH balance, heals the skin, moisturizes, and reduces skin buildup. When used in combination with a healthy diet, this herbal psoriasis product gives sufferers great relief from their symptoms and a way to reclaim healthy skin.

Psoriasis sufferers grow weary to the toxic medications that may cause side effects and the high costs of associated health insurance. Thus, they’re looking for alternative, cost effective products that aren’t harmful. This desire is wonderful as people are becoming partners in their treatments. The National Psoriasis Foundation supports this kind of partnership, particularly with herbal applications.

As testimony to the popularity of alternative medicine for psoriasis a 2004 survey conducted by the National center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM) indicating that 36 percent of adults were starting to use complimentary medicine and taking advantage of alternative health options. Unfortunately, there are not a lot of natural products that seem effective for the majority of psoriasis sufferer - specifically the white, thick, itchy scales that most people experience.

Don’t be discouraged. The good news is that both the NPF and the FDA have recently approved an all natural psoriasis cream that’s safe and effective. Skin Sensitivity Related Symptoms from Acne Meds

Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009
by Norman Sanchez

At some point in our lives, we learned that everyone’s body responds in its own unique way to medications. During flu season, for instance, one person may get drowsy from their medication while another nauseated from the same one. This exact phenomenon also applies to acne treatments.

Some people find relief from pimples by using a prescription product like Retin-A or Differin for three months. Others with comparable cases of acne don’t see results until after six or more months. It is all case-specific. An issue that often arises when dealing with prescription acne medications is varying grades of skin sensitivity. This discrepancy can literally spell either a pleasant or horrid treatment experience.

Our facial skin generally has limited contact with products that contain aggressive additives. Sure, we use soaps and shampoos with harsh chemicals, but these pale in comparison to the strength of topical creams like Tretinoin. In the case of acne products, it is not exactly harmful ingredients that incite nasty symptoms. Our skin needs time to adjust to the medication. During this period, you skin may redden somewhat and begin to peel or burn. For someone who interfaces with coworkers or classmates on a daily basis, the acclimation period can prove intrusive. We’re sure very few would feel comfortable walking around the office with tomato-colored skin.

If you have been led to believe that you have sensitive skin, you are advised to inform your dermatologist. They can provide you with some tips to minimize any potential irritation. A good place to start, as they will tell you, is to spread out your cream applications. Don’t start on a daily cycle, but rather build up to one. Apply your acne topical once every other day, and when your skin begins responding more favorably, up the frequency.

Sensitive skin sometimes appears to be the factor when in fact the person failed to abide by the dermatologist’s instructions. A common mistake is forgetting to apply moisturizer. Remember, acne topicals can be incredibly drying. The instructions provided to you should be reviewed carefully. This will drastically reduce the likelihood of future issues. Another thing to remember is to consult your dermatologist before you experiment with new products or routines. Things like using more than a pea-sized amount of medication, for instance, may sound good in theory but in reality are problematic. A dermatologist knows this will cause more irritation without benefit to the patient. Be open with your dermatologist as this will ensure optimal treatment results.

Back Acne Cure

Thursday, September 3rd, 2009

Most of us struggle with acne on our facial area. Perhaps struggle is an understatement, as those who suffer from this disorder are constantly bombarded with nasty remarks and those disgusted glances. While facial acne is embarrassing and traumatizing on its own, some have a combination of this type of acne and back acne. These pimples surface on the shoulders and of course the back area. Because they are situated in such a location, they can often be painful. When we press our backs against chairs or lay down, we are placing pressure on these eruptions, triggering a painful reaction. While back acne is for the most part hidden, everyone who suffers from it wants to get rid of it. Fortunately, there are no special products or techniques required for treatment. You can eliminate your back pimples with the same creams and washes you use on your face. We will describe a recommended course of treatment below.

It’s easy to imagine the sheer amount of sweat and bacteria that comes into contact with our shoulders and back on a regular basis. Our clothes don’t help much when it comes to allowing these contaminants to flow downwards so that they don’t cause problems. They instead trap the bacteria and keep it within close proximity to our skin. It is no surprise that we then develop acne. Excellent hygiene is the most effective way to eliminate backacne. This translates into daily showers that incorporate cleansing the back area with an special acne-formulated cleanser. You should stop using your current body wash or soap and switch to a product that contains benzoyl peroxide. Wash your skin without any special applicators and then rinse off any remaining cleaning solution.

Cleansing in itself is not enough for clear skin. You need to use a topical medication that includes benzoyl peroxide. It comes in multiple concentrations including 10%, however lower concentrations are just as effective as higher ones. To minimize discomfort in the form of irritation, use the 2.5% variant of the cream. Apply this to your back and shoulder area every night, and within a week you will see progress. Continue to fully clear your skin afterwards.

Your favorite detergent, believe it or not, may be feeding your back acne problem. Those that are highly fragranced have been known to cause such problems. Switch to one that doesn’t have such an overpowering smell, and do the same for other laundry product you are using.

If you engage in exercising activities, try to change your clothes after you’ve finished. A quick shower should be in order as well. You don’t want that sweat to linger on your skin. Also, avoid constantly touching your back. All the bacteria accumulated on your hands will be transported with physical contact.

Natural Remedies For Acne.

Sunday, March 8th, 2009
by Julieanne van Zyl

Over 50 per cent of individuals between the ages of 12 and 21 suffer the devastation of acne. The pimples often start with the start of puberty and the body’s hormones are rising. Individuals become more propensity to acne anytime hormones begin to lift or surge in the body. Women who are pregnant, or going through menopause, or anybody who is using steroids is likely to undergo from acne. If not treated, the acne often results in scarring.

To diminish the scarring, the condition needs to be treated, wherever the acne appears, face, arms or buttocks. The choice is between remedies prescribed by a physician, which will be laboratory made, or natural remedies, or a combination of both, one augmenting the other.

Open pores in the skin are an invitation to the bacteria and oil which create the pustules and cysts of acne. A simple protective method is to close these open pores by rubbing the face with ice for 10 to 15 minutes each day. Closing the pores will go help a lot in preventing new pimples.

The acidity of tomatoes makes available another choice as they help to reduce large pores and black heads in people who have oily skin. Slice the tomato open and rub it on the face allowing it to dry for a number of minutes before washing it off. If you have particularly oily skin, do not wash the face with soap and water. Instead, in the morning and evening, use lukewarm salt water which will remove the oil without drying out the skin too much.

Crushed mint leaves tied in a muslin cloth and squeezed is another natural remedy for acne and blackheads. Use the juice on the face.

By far the best natural treatment for acne is stop it from happening in the first place.. When potential acne victims become conscious of that period in their lives when their hormones will be flowing such as during puberty, pregnancy or when they are using certain medications, it is good policy to use good skin cleansing and general good health practices to prevent the pustules and blackheads developing.

The largest organ in the body is the skin, and it is fed by the food that we eat. By eating junk the skin will produce junk. Improve your overall diet by reducing your intake of processed foods, foods that contain undue quantities of trans fatty acids or foods that are high in fat. This means relinquishing as much as possible foods like hamburgers, french fries, ice cream, excessive chocolate and processed foods like chips and candies.

Modify your diet to one that’s high in green leafy vegetables, fruits and trace minerals and pimples will not come close. And, while fluids are very important to the health and wellness of your skin, it is well to remember that soda is a toxin full of excess sugar and other chemicals. Water is the best fluid to flush out toxins from the body and give your skin overall health and glow.

If the pimples do occur, resist from the use of makeup. Cosmetics tend to bother the condition and assume the appearance of pimples covered by makeup.

The sun is helpful for both the prevention of acne and its treatment, but there are several things to remember. Be sure that you are using an approved sunscreen to prevent sunburn to your face or any other uncovered areas of the body. Tanning by the sun may make the acne look less visible but it also speeds the aging process of the skin and increases your risk of skin cancer.

Include in your diet an adequate amount of vitamin A and beta-carotene. These have been found to help rebuild healthy tissue and discourage outbreaks in those who are prone to acne. Cucumber juice, either by itself or mixed with carrots, lettuce or alfalfa, has been found to be another natural choice which provides the vitamins, minerals and enzymes necessary for the skin to help rebuild itself. It is important that these juices should be made and consumed within 12 hours of making, or the active living enzymes in them will die and will decrease their effectiveness.

Vitamins B, E, and C have been found helpful for both the prevention and treatment of acne. Potassium deficiencies have been associated with people who have acne but because potassium is also important in the electrical conduction of the heart individuals should desist from taking supplements and just eat bananas. Bananas are high in potassium.

Although there is no one vitamin that is of dominant importance in the prevention of acne, in combination they work cooperatively to provide a medicinal process for the body from the inside out.

All about the benefits of white tea

Thursday, December 11th, 2008
by Jack Robbins

For over a thousand years White tea has been preserved as a Chinese secret. It has immense health benefits which make it a much better option than the traditionally known green tea. Green tea is far less effective compared to white tea.

White tea promotes rapid weight loss. Antioxidants contained in white tea are highly concentrated leading to a reasonable and sustainable increase in metabolism rate. The increased metabolism rate finally leads to much faster weight loss, almost on autopilot.

White tea inhibits cancer cells as well as prevents the formation of new ones. Research into its aid to cancer patients is still ongoing however it is widely believed that this is due to the wide range of antioxidants that white tea contains.

White tea is very effective for having radiant, problem free skin. The antioxidants present within white tea help fight off free radicals in the skin which are responsible for wrinkles and aging.

White tea can help fight off bacteria and viruses. It is a ver good antibacterial and antiviral agent. Recent research has proven that it is better than green tea at fighting off germs and viruses.

Research has shown that people who drank white tea were more likely to have stronger bones compared to those who didn’t drink it. Though this research is as yet inconclusive it still sheds light on a potential benefit to Arthritis and Osteoporosis patients.

A lowering of bad cholesterol levels can be achieved by consuming white tea. White tea contains a group of antioxidants called catechins which help reduce levels of cholesterol. White tea helps keep the levels in under the required amount.

It wont be long before white tea ousts green tea as the healthiest drink in town. It is already more effective at weight loss.
